Why Travel?

At one point in your life you will feel exhausted, bored and tired of your routinary life. When that day comes, just step out of your comfort box, move away from your usual self and see your life from different perspectives. Travel! Head out to the endless horizon and discover the world, go places and meet new faces, explore to understand new cultures, get lost to find yourself. In the end you will realize that traveling is not only about learning new cultures or meeting new friends or discovering new places, it also lets us discover our own culture, our limits, ourselves. It is a personal journey to self-discovery, because after all, it is only from the outside that we can look back in.

Who is Lakwatsero

Angel Juarez is a backpacker, adventure seeker, son of a beach, hobbyist photographer, scuba diver, aspiring marine conservation biologist, environment advocate, runner, mountain biker, budget traveler, seasonal mountaineer and newbie surfer. An Information Technology Analyst on workdays who speaks languages that only computers understand, but on weekends and holidays he is most probably underwater, on the saddle or out-of-town. He started chasing sunsets, waterfalls, lighthouses and extreme adventures as soon as he finished college and started blogging in May of 2006 under the web name Bleue. He decided to focus on Travel in March of 2008. He dreamed of documenting and sharing his adventures to the world, thus he created www.lakwatsero.com.

Angel and his works and photos have already been featured and published in various websites and publications including Yahoo, Skyscanner, Choose Philippines, Spot.ph, Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Magazine, Cebu Pacific’s Smile Magazine, Lonely Planet Magazine, Health and Home Magazine, and Travel+Leisure Magazine.

    Hello! I just want to ask something. Where can you suggest a date for 2 out of town that we will feel cozy for 2500-3000php(each(inclusive of foods, commuting fares, room, and activities)). What about Baler, Bataan, La Union, and Batangas? Which is better? Thank you.

    hi, should i visit sagada, with baguio-sagada bus.. how much ung fare.. and for 3days 2 nights visit (from baguio) how much should i prepare?

    i want to try to travel on my own..
    i must admit a part of me is excited and sympre a part of me eh somehow scared ( a lot of what ifs) haha

    anyone? who’s planning to visit sagada before the year ends.. lets travel together.. hahaha

    Thanks for your very informative website!

    I wanted to get your recommendation on which part of the island we can safely spend a lazy day on a hammock near the beach. My boyfriend and I wants to get a hammock from the market and just drink beer. 🙂 We’re planning to go there early December.

    Are the bangkeros able just take us to an island and pick us up at a certain time?

    Which hotel do you recommend in case we can’t go to another island for ‘hammocking’ but rather stay on the hotel’s beach area? Please let me know.

    I am Ted Castillo, an avid traveler by heart and passion. I love to bike,run, back pack, trek, mountain bike, an outdoor person and also a pro scuba diver. I just read your blog and i find it interesting to see in the blog about travel and conservation. I find many blogs boring, like fashion and nonsense. It is rare to find a person with a passion of conservation through social media awakening. You are one such kind of a person who shares conservation in a different way. I hope that we can collaborate some works and show them the beauty of our resources that they have taken for granted. I am basing in a small island called mactan, in cebu. Me and my friends have been really trying to keep our underwater playground healthy. Hope you can feature our dive sites in your blog to raise awareness.

    I also started traveling last year and I have been following your travel guide to make my travel adventure easier :). I also started taking pictures to document my travel but I just keep them for myself. Your pictures are really nice and they inspires me to learn how to take beautiful photos like yours.

    1. What camera do you use? 2. Did you edit those pictures or add filter before posting? Is it from Raw or JPG format?
