Comments

  1. Valenzuela is my dear hometown. It used to be part of Bulacan but now it is part of Metro Manila. I grew up here and as a Valenzuelenos I am proud to recommend to you to try to visit The NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA CHURCH. It is located in Fatima,Marulas. This lent season, why not visit it and pray the rosary (if you are a Catholic) or just see Our Lady Of Fatima statue.

  2. Hi Lakwatsero! Pampanga is my hometown. My dad comes from there, and I spent most summers of my childhood at our ancestral home in San Fernando. I love betute tugak (tastes like chicken) and of course, our famous turonnes de kasoy!

Congrats on your blog’s anniversary. (=

Indang, Cavite is my hometown. I was born there and I’ll probably end up growing old there. Even though I work and live in Manila now, I make it a point that my family always go home there every now and then. Indang, is probably one of the least popular towns in Cavite but it is the home of the native delicacy known as Kalamay and the home-made sugar palm vinegar.

Hi Lakwatsero! My hometown is Batangas City, a place where you can find the strongest coffee in the country known as the ‘kapeng barako’. This is something that every tourist should try out when they visit my hometown. 🙂

  5. Melvin De Sales

Hello Lakwatsero! I consider Bacolod city as my hometown. Aside from being known as the home of “Masskara festival” and quoted as “the city of smiles”, Bacolod has lot to offer. We have there the famous “INASAL”(check out Manokan country), also the popular delicacy “piaya” and delicious cakes of Calea.

  6. I consider Laguna as my hometown. I love its hot spring resorts such as Agua Caliente.

  7. Majoy

    Hi Lakwatsero, Congratulation!!

I consider Alabat Island in the province of Quezon my hometown, the magnificent view of Pacific Ocean from the mountain top is one of the best tourist spot there, people are warm and hospitable, foods originally from Alabat are good too. To get there you have to ride a boat 1 hour from the mainland and sometimes dolphins and shark are visible during the trip. 🙂

  8. Jepay

Hi lakwatsero, anyone visiting Dumaguete should never miss Apo Island in Zamboangita. Pristine coral reefs and excellent marine sanctuary. Don’t forget to bring your snorkel and bread to feed the fishies. 🙂

  9. Hi lakwatsero, Sagada is a serene place fit for those who want to relax and at the same time, harness ones physical potential. Besides the steep streets and outdoor angular walks, Sumaguing cave is an experience worth enduring. A dip after a long walk to Bomod-Oc falls is also one for anyone’s list to have. Veggies and Brown rice at Salt and Peppers are FTW. These are some of the reasons why I consider Sagada close to my heart.

  10. What I would like to consider my hometown is in Romblon. Back in college, we went there to teach computer literacy to public school students and employees. I was really amazed because they have lots of white sand beaches perfect for writers and novelists as the locals say because of its serene waters and environment. We stayed in this small town where everyone knows everybody and the market place is just walking distance to everyone. When its walking distance, it means less vehicles = less pollution 😉 What really attracted me to this place is the people. They were all super friendly and the crime rate was zero according to the residents. They also have this mountain made of marble. That’s why Romblon is known for exporting marble furniture/accessories.

    Yo Lakwatsero,
my place to be is in San Pedro.

The place where I spend most of my growing years.
    Through life’s laugh and tears.
In an hour, I could be in Batangas.
In an hour, I could be in Manila.
In an hour, I’d be back to my place in San Pedro.

  12. Renchie Cainglet

Greetings fellow LAKWATSERO! I am a proud Dabawenyo from Davao City. This place has a lot to offer, but I would have to say that amongst the top of your list should be visiting EDEN NATURE PARK and RESORT. What made me remember this place so much was because this was where I appreciated the pleasing smell of various herbs and spices like citronella, oregano, mint, cinnamon and many others.

My mom’s hometown is Legaspi, Albay in Bicol. The beautiful Mayon Volcano rests here. Other places of interest include the Cagsawa Ruins and close by are Donsol, CWC, Misibis Bay and Caramoan. Do try my favorites Bicol Express, Pili Sweets and Casava Cake. ‘Proud to be part-Bicolana. 🙂

  14. Hi Lakwatsero!

I’ve lived in Manila my entire life, just probably spent few months of my childhood in the province of my birth parents so I can’t say much about my origin. What I consider to be a good spot as a hometown is the province of Bataan. It was the second time I visited the place two weeks ago and I had this wonderful time at the Pawikan Conservation Center in Morong. It has a very long stretch of sand, very peaceful and of course, we were able to adopt a Pawikan. I had too much fun playing with them before they were released. It was really an experience for me and I’d love to visit that place again.
There’s a lot of hostorical sites to visit in Bataan. Once you get there, don’t forget to check out Dambana ng Kagitingan, The Zero-Kilometer mark of Death March, Bataan Cross, not to mention the churches and trails for trekking. 🙂

  15. agnes merza

My hometown is Dalaguete, Cebu. I would recommend to try our very own “torta” (it’s a kind of cupcake). If you like chocolates, we have “tablea” (chocolate balls) that you can use in making hot choco drink or champorado.

Hi lakwatsero I have lived most of my life in a town in Palawan called Roxas. If you are looking for adventure in Roxas, I don’t think you will find that many but here are some things I suggest you try; 1. Island Hopping – Coco Loco Beach and Purao Island are some of most common beach spot there, you will also appreciate numerous sand bars while going to the island. 2. Skim Boarding – A boardsport in which a skimboard which is a smaller counterpart of a surfboard is used to glide across the water’s surface. 3. Chao Long and French bread – a taste of Vietnam in Palawan, beef stew made of rice noodles and meat, the sweet and spicy flavor will tickle your taste buds. And lastly your trip to Roxas would not be complete without buying different cashew products since the town boasts itself as the cashew nuts capital of the Philippines. Happy anniversary and more power..

I’m from San Pablo City – the city of seven lakes. So, a tour of the seven lakes is a recommend. But if you don’t have a day to tour all 7 lakes, maybe you can just try visiting Sampaloc and Pandin Lake. 🙂

There are also a variety of restos and resorts to visit like Sulyap Cafe, Casa San Pablo, and the famous Villa Escudero (yeah, it’s in San Pablo not Quezon)

And don’t forget to drop by El Mare to buy buko pie and chicken empanada for pasalubongs. (I prefer El Mare’s buko pie than Colette’s)

  18. Darlene Razon Cabunilas

I was born in Zambales but have to leave the place when I was still 8y/o due to Mt. Pinatubo eruption. But until now, I still keep coming back just to experience the sea, the mountains, and the provincial life are one.

  19. OJ Gungab

Hi Lakwatsero! My hometown is in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. When you visit OcciMin again, I suggest you include in your itinerary the Ambulong Island as it’s just perfect for a summer escapade 🙂

  20. Cavite is my hometown. Thou shall not miss Caylabne Bay Resort in Ternate when you have your visit. One of the nicest here. =)
