Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines, has fully embraced the budget segment of travelers with the opening of various establishments that cater mainly to the backpackers. But one that has emerged unique and trendy is Upstairs Bed and Bath, a game changer in the local tourism industry that revolutionized the concept of budget accommodation in the Pine City.
Conveniently located in the upper floor of the Girl Scout of the Philippines (GSP) Building along Leonard Wood Road in the city proper, Upstairs Bed and Bath is a modern, zen-inspired hostel that offers affordable accommodation in Baguio. It is one-of-a-kind hostel that guarantees budget and convenient stay as it is strategically near the Victory Liner Bus Terminal and the busy Session Road, and just right in front of SM City Baguio.
Upstairs Bed and Bath has pretty good feedbacks from netizens so we opted to stay with them during the Globe Cordillera Challenge 4. We were four in the group and we were housed in the three-double decked dormitory room that is good for six persons. Although we didn’t spend much time in the hostel since we arrived in the evening and went out early the next day to bike in Benguet, it was still generally a pleasant stay. The staff were accommodating, the totality of the hostel was clean and the wifi was working. It may not be the best accommodation in Baguio but for the price we paid at P299 per person per night, it was just okay! I specifically love their homey ambiance and great location.
